Hello Reader,

I have sat down to invite you to join me in the upcoming Calm, Clear & Courageous meditation circle numerous times over the past few weeks.

And I've completed exactly one of those invitations.

Not because I don't believe in the potency of what we experience together in this circle and certainly not because I don't want you to join.

Mostly because things have felt heavy and untenable.

And I find myself wondering "what could I possibly say in the face of all of this?"

Well, here's what I'll say today - please don't look away, but please don't exhaust yourself in the witnessing either.

The chaos of these times demands more of us than allowing ourselves to get drawn into every argument started by an anonymous keyboard warrior in some dark part of the internet (or worse, some bot), than permitting ourselves to be drawn into the downward pull of fear and worry and judgment and hopelessness and powerlessness in the face of willful ignorance, violence and oppression, than getting swept up in the endlessly churning waters of "what can I possibly do?" and "how could they?" and "I should be doing more" that exhaust our energy but move us nowhere.

We must be well-resourced for the work of standing resolutely and loudly on the side of peace, Love, compassion and freedom - however that looks in our lives.

When I say well-resourced, I mean outer resources - like access to the information, time, money, talent and companionship needed to organize, resist, stand-up, observe and demand change AND inner resources - like a nervous system that is flexible and able to respond appropriately to the environment, a sense of inner safety and self-trust, a grounded sense of connection to Self and others, and an open heart and mind able to access deep courage and inner alignment.

And friend, inner resourcing is where I shine.

The problem of inner resourcing is exactly what the Calm, Clear & Courageous meditation circle is designed to help you address.

You want to doom scroll less and speak out more.

You want to feel less like Chicken Little declaring the "sky is falling" and more like Jerome Powell calmly pointing out that the investigation is political retribution and theater.

You want to be less like a member of Congress dodging reporters in order to avoid responsibility for their inaction and more like AOC looking directly into the cameras and explaining that the removal of healthcare subsidies is what is funding ICE; that citizens are suffering to enable the infecting of more suffering.

You want to feel all the feelings, witness all the goings on, stay informed and engaged - and you need to not collapse under the weight of it all.

When your inner coffers are full, you are resourced to take aligned action.

In Calm, Clear & Courageous, we fill those inner coffers together.

It's simple but potent - we come together to start the day with guided breath work, meditation and reflection, filling our wells with much-needed connection to steadiness, ease, safety, trust and confidence so we are centered and better able to navigate whatever life throws our way.

We breathe before we doom scroll.

We connect with the foundations of peace, Love, compassion and freedom that are alive within us before we observe where they are cracking in society.

We make note of the future that is taking root within us individually before we observe what is dissolving in the collective.

And then we move through our day as a Calm, Clear & Courageous presence.

We intentionally resource ourselves to contribute meaningfully to the furthering of peace, Love, compassion and freedom wherever we go and through whatever we do.

Here's how Calm, Clear & Courageous is organized (it's designed to support you) -

🕊️ 19 January - 14 February (the first month) - our circle gathers Monday-Friday at 7:30am for 30 minutes of breathwork, guided meditation and reflection

🕊️ 16 February - 3 July (the other 5 months) - our circle gathers Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:30am for 30 minutes of breathwork, guided meditation and reflection

🕊️ January - June (all 6 months) - our circle will gather one Sunday evening each month at 7pm for an Uplift the World group energy healing circle where we'll focus the energies of calm, clarity, courage and wholeness we've cultivated in our individual practices and send them out into the world as Love, peace, compassion and healing

🕊️ Throughout our time together - you are invited to participate in a private community space where you can ask your questions, share your experiences and connect with the other souls in the circle as much (or as little) as you'd like

Here's how the circles will unfold -

💻 7:20am ET - Zoom room will open for quiet centering; you can join anytime

🧘‍♀️ 7:30am ET - I'll turn on my camera (you can keep yours off), greet everyone and start the practice (the practice will be recorded; only my camera view will be included in the recording); after the practice, I'll offer space for you to write in your journal and share if you feel led

👋 8am ET - I'll close the circle and wish you a lovely day; I will remain available to anyone who has questions or wants to talk through something they are experiencing for a short time afterward
